- SamHaiNe has been performing Poetry/Spoken Word since the mid 90's.. Before starting his own musical project O-Ren Ishi.
Originally conceived in 2001, O-Ren Ishi's first feature single was the Electro-House single "Fashion of the Flesh".(prod. Elegba's Child) released on the Zone 7 Entertainment compilation Vol 1. in 2006. In 2008 the follow up E.P. "A Different Way of Thinking" was to be his last release on Zone 7 Entertainment.
2008, also marked the year SamHaiNe stopped reading original poetry in New York City. Growing tired of the pretentiousness of the nyc scene and its wasteland instead focusing his craft in the city of Philadelphia. Philly has been a great oasis for him since 2008 as a great inspiration for his art and peace of mind. He now tours through different states such as Philly, Atlanta, & Tennessee(via Greyhound or hitching) signing up or featuring at any open mics that crosses his path. From 2009-2010 he released a mixtape of other underground artists as well a series of odd singles, rants, videos and at one time hosted a monthly party/jam session in NY Hell's Kitchen (Out2Lunch).
Now Independently evolving or rather simplifying his projects into the next step of entropy.
