MISTAKEN CHARITY tells the tale of two 87 year old impoverished and handicapped twin sisters, Harriet and Charlotte Shattuck, living in a shack in 1906 Maine, and subsisting on foraged dandelions and doughnuts. Along comes a neighbor, Mrs Simmonds who is intent on good works, and insists that the sisters must leave their cabin for more comfortable surroundings.
