In 2004, Edward Joseph Neenan (aka E.Joseph), a Pop-Rock Veteran-in Baltimore through his journeyman work with power-pop bands Splitsville and Myracle Brah and his own bands, Bunny and 360 Loose, decided to launch out on his own with a new and somewhat different sounding crop of songs. With a beat up acoustic guitar, an assortment of effects pedals, and a cassette boom box with homemade drum beats on tape he released 2006’s Absinthe Minded under the pseudonym E.Joseph.
Soon came the full band and added arrangements provided by band mates Nick Porcaro (drums), Snuttock (keyboards), and Mia Regalado (bass) as the band, The Phantom Heart, and the release, All the Medicine in the World… in 2008. Regular airplay on WTMD and other college and AAA stations such as KEXP, KCRW, WXPN Y-Rock and others helped galvanize the band’s live shows in other regions and spurred the CD Maxi-Single release of 2009’s The Ghosts Around You. In 2010 keyboardist, Snuttock, left the band to pursue his solo endeavors; he was permanently replaced by “Spacey” Cuellar, also of the band Skydivers.
E.Joseph and The Phantom Heart have two releases on the now defunct Beechfields Records label and are currently working on a new full-length record at Mobtown Studios in Baltimore.
