With music roots firmly entrenched in Philly, and renowned for playing surprise 'theme shows' (including the music of Nintendo, TV theme songs, Frank Zappa, and many others) Agent Moosehead has consistantly grown and pushed the status quo since first taking the stage as a 3-piece band in 2005. The band has since expanded to 7+ members and features a rotating combination of musicians and arrangements.
AM has received the distinct honor of performing with accomplished artists including: Frank Zappa percussionist, Ed Mann, King Crimson bassist, Tony Levin, Finnish group-sensation: Husky Rescue and the Chicago-based, afro-beat giant, Nomo, during their Philadelphia stops of their respective US tours.
2007 brought the release of their much anticipated debut CD: "Neil, Throw the Switch!", and following its release, Agent Moosehead was selected as one of 6 finalists out of over 100 bands, and subsequently placed third in the 2nd annual PhillySoundClash in February 2008.
In June of 2008, Agent Moosehead hosted and headlined at the highly successful "1st Annual Philly Zappa Fest" (a gathering of performers covering and paying tribute to the music of Frank Zappa. The show featured The Paul Green School of Rock & Elliott Levin among other guests).
Most recently, Agent Moosehead was selected, and voted into the final round of the World Cafe Live's: Beta Hi Fi Emerging Artists Showcase / Battle of the Bands, in August of 2008 and was a selected as a 'sonic bids winner' to perform at the 14th annual NY Harvest Festival & Freedom Rally in October 2008, where Ed Mann sat in as a special guest on their set. Other featured artists at the event were: Deep Banana Blackout, DJ Logic, and ekoostik hookah. In March 2009, Agent Moosehead was nominated (and voted in as) Deli Magazine's Phill Artist of the Month.
The momentum has never ceased since the 'Moosehead Organization' began its quest to challenge the established music-scene!
