Event Description
James Brown's creation of the music style known as funk has been treasured for well over 40 years. 111 East Digital will focus on not James Brown the artist, but the musicians in his band and other great funk bands that they inspired to make funk so special. We will feature musicians from some of the following bands from 1967 to the 1980's:
The Famous Flames, Fred Wesley & the JB's, Parliament/Funkadelic, Maceo & the Macks, Sly & the Family Stone (featuring Larry Graham), the Ohio Players, Kool & the Gang.
For all of you musicians, Funk Lovers, Funkateers, P-Funk All-Stars, Funky Drummers, horn players, and hand slapping bassist, you won't want to miss this session! Get your popcorn ready!
